Rebuilding Stronger with PowerLift Doors in McLemoresville, Tennessee

At PowerLift Doors, some projects are about more than installing hydraulic doors—they’re about building lasting relationships. A recent project completed by PowerLift Doors of Tennessee in McLemoresville, Tennessee, is a perfect example of how trust, quality, and customer satisfaction can create partnerships that span multiple buildings and many years.

This customer’s journey with PowerLift began several years ago when they chose to install two PowerLift hydraulic doors on their original building. Like many of our customers, they were looking for a dependable door system that could provide the strength, reliability, and clear-span access needed for their operation.

Unfortunately, disaster struck when a tornado destroyed the original structure. While rebuilding after such a devastating event is never easy, the customer remained committed to investing in a facility designed for long-term success. When it came time to select doors for the new building, they didn’t have to look far. Their previous experience with PowerLift Doors gave them the confidence to choose our products once again.

The newly constructed facility now features four PowerLift hydraulic doors, including one 40′ x 20′ door, one 30′ x 20′ door, and two 30′ x 16′ doors. These large openings provide exceptional access for equipment, vehicles, and daily operations while delivering the durability and performance that PowerLift doors are known for throughout the agricultural and commercial industries.

What makes this project especially meaningful to our team is that the relationship continues to grow. The customer is currently constructing another building and plans to install two additional PowerLift doors as part of that expansion. Their continued investment in PowerLift products is a testament to the value of quality craftsmanship, dependable performance, and strong customer support.

A Story of Resilience: Four PowerLift Doors in Milan, Tennessee

Every building has a purpose, but some projects tell a story that goes far beyond the structure itself. This agricultural facility in Milan, Tennessee is one of those projects.

Today, the building is equipped with four PowerLift Hydraulic Doors installed by PowerLift Doors of Tennessee, including one 40′ x 20′ door, two 20′ x 18′ doors, and one 16′ x 16′ door. The completed project provides the owner with reliable access, efficient operation, and the durability needed for daily agricultural use. What makes this installation especially memorable, however, is the journey that brought it to where it is today.

This project was one of the very first completed by PowerLift Doors of Tennessee after becoming an official PowerLift location. The original installation included a 40′ x 20′ hydraulic door and a 20′ x 18′ hydraulic door. The doors provided the wide, unobstructed openings and dependable performance that PowerLift Hydraulic Doors are known for, helping support the owner’s agricultural operation.

Unfortunately, disaster struck when the building later experienced a devastating fire. The structure was destroyed, creating a significant setback for the owner and requiring a complete rebuild of the facility.

While the fire consumed the building, one remarkable detail remained. The original PowerLift door frames survived.

When the owner began rebuilding, those original door frames were able to be reused as part of the new construction. Their ability to withstand such extreme conditions speaks to the strength and quality built into every PowerLift door system. Rather than starting completely from scratch, the owner was able to incorporate those surviving components into the new facility.

As rebuilding plans moved forward, the owner also decided to expand the door package. In addition to the original doors, a second 20′ x 18′ hydraulic door and a 16′ x 16′ hydraulic door were added to better serve the needs of the operation. The result is the four-door configuration that stands today.

The completed facility now offers exceptional accessibility, flexibility, and functionality. The large 40′ x 20′ door provides ample clearance for equipment and vehicles, while the additional doors create efficient access points throughout the building. Like all PowerLift Hydraulic Doors, each opening delivers full-height clearance without the tracks, springs, and overhead obstructions associated with traditional door systems.

For PowerLift Doors of Tennessee, this project represents more than just another successful installation. It reflects a relationship built on trust and a commitment to supporting customers through every stage of their building’s lifecycle. Being selected for the original installation was an honor, but being trusted again during the rebuild made this project even more meaningful.

Today, this facility stands as a testament to perseverance, recovery, and the long-term value of investing in quality. From one of PowerLift Doors of Tennessee’s earliest projects to a rebuilt facility equipped with four hydraulic doors, the story of this Milan, Tennessee installation demonstrates why agricultural operators continue to choose PowerLift Hydraulic Doors for strength, reliability, and performance that lasts for years to come.

Installed by PowerLift Doors of Tennessee, this impressive one-piece hydraulic door was designed to maximize the usable opening of the hangar while delivering the smooth, reliable operation that PowerLift Doors are known for throughout the aviation industry.

When closed, the door creates a clean, modern appearance with its striking black exterior and integrated window package. The windows allow natural light into the hangar while maintaining the sleek aesthetic of the building. When opened, the hydraulic door lifts outward and upward as a single panel, creating a large canopy that offers protection from the elements while aircraft are being moved in and out of the hangar.

One of the biggest advantages of a PowerLift hydraulic door is the clear opening it provides. Unlike traditional bi-fold or sliding door systems, a hydraulic door eliminates the need for overhead tracks, cables, and multiple moving sections. This allows pilots and hangar owners to take full advantage of their building’s opening while enjoying simple operation and long-term reliability.

For aircraft owners, ease of access and dependable performance are critical. PowerLift hydraulic doors are engineered with high-quality components and designed to withstand years of daily use in demanding environments. Their durable construction and low-maintenance operation make them a popular choice for private hangars, corporate aviation facilities, maintenance shops, and airport developments across North America.

This installation at Wifferdill Airpark showcases how a custom PowerLift door can enhance both the functionality and appearance of an aircraft hangar. The 58′ x 18′ opening provides ample clearance for aircraft while complementing the overall design of the building.

Raptor Transfer in Grandview, Missouri

PowerLift Hydraulic Doors played a key role in the construction of a major waste transfer facility for Raptor Transfer in Grandview, Missouri. Completed by Weirich Welding Plus, this large-scale operation serves a significant portion of the Kansas City metropolitan area, providing an efficient hub for waste collection and transportation.

Designed to handle a constant flow of incoming waste-hauling vehicles, the facility relies on six PowerLift hydraulic doors to maximize throughput, improve traffic flow, and support daily operations. The project features four massive 58′ x 26′ PowerLift hydraulic doors that provide access to 20 unloading lanes where local waste collection companies continuously deliver material throughout the day.

Once waste is deposited, it is transferred through the facility and loaded into semi-trailers for transport to its next destination. Supporting this process are two additional 33′ x 16′ PowerLift hydraulic doors located at the lower loading area, where waste is pushed into waiting trailers for haul-off.

The large clear openings provided by PowerLift doors are especially valuable in high-traffic industrial applications such as waste transfer stations. Unlike conventional overhead doors, hydraulic doors eliminate tracks, cables, and overhead obstructions, allowing trucks, equipment, and personnel to move freely through the facility. Their simple, rugged design also minimizes maintenance requirements while providing dependable performance in demanding environments.

For facilities that operate around the clock and depend on efficient vehicle movement, door reliability is critical. PowerLift hydraulic doors are engineered to withstand heavy daily use while delivering smooth operation, durability, and long-term performance. The Raptor Transfer project demonstrates how properly designed hydraulic door systems can contribute to operational efficiency, improved workflow, and reduced downtime in industrial settings.

PowerLift Doors is proud to have been selected for this important project and appreciates the outstanding work of Weirich Welding Plus in delivering another successful installation.

From Hand-Drawn Sketch to Custom PowerLift Door

Every building has a story, and sometimes that story begins with a simple sketch on a piece of paper.

When the owner of an agricultural building needed to replace a damaged overhead door, he wasn’t interested in installing just another standard door. He had a specific vision for how the entrance to his building should look. Instead of trying to describe it, he picked up a pencil and hand-drew exactly what he wanted.

That sketch became the foundation for a custom 26′ x 16′ PowerLift Hydraulic Door.

Working alongside Weirich Welding Plus, the customer’s concept was transformed from a drawing into a fully functional hydraulic door that delivers both the appearance he envisioned and the performance he needed. The finished design features the distinctive crossbuck pattern from the original sketch while providing all the advantages of a PowerLift Hydraulic Door.

Unlike traditional overhead doors, PowerLift doors open as a single solid unit, creating a full-clear opening without tracks, springs, or overhead obstructions. This design maximizes usable space inside the building while providing smooth, reliable operation year after year.

Projects like this showcase what makes PowerLift doors unique. While performance and durability are always priorities, we also understand that every building owner has different goals for the appearance of their structure. Whether it’s matching existing architecture, creating a custom look, or bringing a hand-drawn concept to life, PowerLift doors can be tailored to fit the vision.

The completed project stands as a perfect example of what can happen when a customer’s creativity, the craftsmanship of Weirich Welding Plus, and the engineering of a PowerLift Hydraulic Door come together.

What started as a damaged overhead door and a sketch on paper is now a custom entrance that combines style, functionality, and long-term reliability.

If you’re considering a hydraulic door for your farm, shop, or agricultural building, contact Weirich Welding Plus to learn how they can help bring your ideas to life with a custom PowerLift Hydraulic Door solution.

PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska recently completed the installation of a new 76-foot by 20-foot aircraft hangar door at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Anchorage, Alaska. The project was part of a larger initiative to modernize aviation facilities by replacing several aging hangar door systems with dependable, high-performance hydraulic doors designed to meet the demands of military operations.

Located just outside Anchorage, JBER serves as one of the Department of Defense’s most strategically important installations in the Pacific region. The base supports a wide range of military aircraft and missions, making reliable facility infrastructure essential to maintaining operational readiness. When the need arose to replace outdated hangar doors that had reached the end of their service life, PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska was selected to provide a solution that would deliver long-term durability, smooth operation, and dependable performance in Alaska’s challenging climate.

The newly installed 76′ x 20′ PowerLift hydraulic door provides a large, unobstructed opening for aircraft movement while maximizing usable interior space. Unlike traditional multi-panel door systems, PowerLift’s one-piece hydraulic design eliminates many of the components that commonly require maintenance and repair, resulting in a cleaner, more reliable operation. The robust hydraulic system and custom-engineered construction make PowerLift doors an ideal solution for aviation facilities where performance and dependability are critical.

This project highlights PowerLift’s continued commitment to serving aviation customers throughout North America, including military, commercial, and private aviation sectors. AWACS Hangar on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER)

Some projects stand out not only because of the finished product, but because of the challenges involved in getting there. A recent installation completed by PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) near Anchorage, Alaska, is one of those projects.

The project involved the installation of a 30′ x 14′ PowerLift hydraulic aircraft hangar door for the AWACS hangar facility. While the door itself was designed to deliver the dependable performance and reliability PowerLift doors are known for, the installation process presented a unique challenge for the Alaska team.

Unlike a typical hangar door installation, this door was positioned approximately 55 feet above the ground. Working at that elevation required specialized equipment, extensive planning, and a highly coordinated installation effort. From maneuvering materials and equipment into position to ensuring every component was installed with precision, the project demanded careful attention to detail from start to finish.

The installation crew utilized aerial lifts and other specialized equipment to safely position and secure the door structure. Working at height inside an active aircraft facility added another layer of complexity, requiring both technical expertise and strict adherence to safety protocols throughout the project.

Despite the challenges, the PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska team successfully completed the installation, delivering a hydraulic door system designed for smooth operation, reliability, and long-term performance. The finished door provides dependable access while maintaining the durability needed to withstand Alaska’s demanding climate conditions.

Projects like this demonstrate the versatility of PowerLift hydraulic door systems and the capabilities of PowerLift’s dealer network across North America. Whether installed at ground level or more than 50 feet in the air, every PowerLift door is engineered to provide dependable operation, custom-fit performance, and lasting value.

The successful completion of this AWACS hangar project is a testament to the skill, dedication, and problem-solving abilities of the PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska team. Their commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction continues to make them a trusted provider of hydraulic door solutions throughout Alaska.
