PowerLift Doors of Saskatchewan custom built and installed this 18′ x 10′ architectural PowerLift hydraulic door as part of a beautifully restored barn. What makes this project especially unique is the location of the door. Rather than being installed in a traditional wall opening, the door is built directly into the floor of the barn’s second story.

Creating Access Between Two Floors

The goal of this project was to create a way to move cars from the lower level of the barn to the second floor. When the PowerLift door opens, it exposes the opening in the floor, allowing cars to be lifted from below and brought onto the second level.

When the door is closed, it becomes part of the second-story floor, maximizing the usable space inside the barn. The custom steel frame and hydraulic system provide a practical solution while fitting into the unique design of the restored structure.

Custom Built for a Unique Application
