A Story of Resilience: Four PowerLift Doors in Milan, Tennessee
Every building has a purpose, but some projects tell a story that goes far beyond the structure itself. This agricultural facility in Milan, Tennessee is one of those projects.
Today, the building is equipped with four PowerLift Hydraulic Doors installed by PowerLift Doors of Tennessee, including one 40′ x 20′ door, two 20′ x 18′ doors, and one 16′ x 16′ door. The completed project provides the owner with reliable access, efficient operation, and the durability needed for daily agricultural use. What makes this installation especially memorable, however, is the journey that brought it to where it is today.
This project was one of the very first completed by PowerLift Doors of Tennessee after becoming an official PowerLift location. The original installation included a 40′ x 20′ hydraulic door and a 20′ x 18′ hydraulic door. The doors provided the wide, unobstructed openings and dependable performance that PowerLift Hydraulic Doors are known for, helping support the owner’s agricultural operation.
Unfortunately, disaster struck when the building later experienced a devastating fire. The structure was destroyed, creating a significant setback for the owner and requiring a complete rebuild of the facility.
While the fire consumed the building, one remarkable detail remained. The original PowerLift door frames survived.
When the owner began rebuilding, those original door frames were able to be reused as part of the new construction. Their ability to withstand such extreme conditions speaks to the strength and quality built into every PowerLift door system. Rather than starting completely from scratch, the owner was able to incorporate those surviving components into the new facility.
As rebuilding plans moved forward, the owner also decided to expand the door package. In addition to the original doors, a second 20′ x 18′ hydraulic door and a 16′ x 16′ hydraulic door were added to better serve the needs of the operation. The result is the four-door configuration that stands today.
The completed facility now offers exceptional accessibility, flexibility, and functionality. The large 40′ x 20′ door provides ample clearance for equipment and vehicles, while the additional doors create efficient access points throughout the building. Like all PowerLift Hydraulic Doors, each opening delivers full-height clearance without the tracks, springs, and overhead obstructions associated with traditional door systems.
For PowerLift Doors of Tennessee, this project represents more than just another successful installation. It reflects a relationship built on trust and a commitment to supporting customers through every stage of their building’s lifecycle. Being selected for the original installation was an honor, but being trusted again during the rebuild made this project even more meaningful.
Today, this facility stands as a testament to perseverance, recovery, and the long-term value of investing in quality. From one of PowerLift Doors of Tennessee’s earliest projects to a rebuilt facility equipped with four hydraulic doors, the story of this Milan, Tennessee installation demonstrates why agricultural operators continue to choose PowerLift Hydraulic Doors for strength, reliability, and performance that lasts for years to come.
