76′ x 20′ PowerLift Door for JBER in Anchorage, Alaska
PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska recently completed the installation of a new 76-foot by 20-foot aircraft hangar door at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Anchorage, Alaska. The project was part of a larger initiative to modernize aviation facilities by replacing several aging hangar door systems with dependable, high-performance hydraulic doors designed to meet the demands of military operations.
Located just outside Anchorage, JBER serves as one of the Department of Defense’s most strategically important installations in the Pacific region. The base supports a wide range of military aircraft and missions, making reliable facility infrastructure essential to maintaining operational readiness. When the need arose to replace outdated hangar doors that had reached the end of their service life, PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska was selected to provide a solution that would deliver long-term durability, smooth operation, and dependable performance in Alaska’s challenging climate.
The newly installed 76′ x 20′ PowerLift hydraulic door provides a large, unobstructed opening for aircraft movement while maximizing usable interior space. Unlike traditional multi-panel door systems, PowerLift’s one-piece hydraulic design eliminates many of the components that commonly require maintenance and repair, resulting in a cleaner, more reliable operation. The door opens smoothly and efficiently, providing personnel with quick access to the hangar while helping to reduce downtime associated with older door technologies.
Alaska’s harsh weather conditions present unique challenges for any building system, especially large aircraft hangar doors. PowerLift doors are engineered to withstand demanding environments, offering the strength and reliability needed to perform through extreme temperature fluctuations, snow loads, wind exposure, and year-round use. The robust hydraulic system and custom-engineered construction make PowerLift doors an ideal solution for aviation facilities where performance and dependability are critical.
This project highlights PowerLift’s continued commitment to serving aviation customers throughout North America, including military, commercial, and private aviation sectors. By replacing outdated infrastructure with modern hydraulic door technology, facilities like JBER can improve operational efficiency while benefiting from a door system built for decades of reliable service.
PowerLift Hydraulic Doors of Alaska is proud to have contributed to this important facility upgrade and remains dedicated to providing innovative hydraulic door solutions that support the needs of aviation professionals across the state and beyond.
